Complex Sim World Model

Moths is a combination of the heat diffusion model with agents on top of it. The agents move in such a way that they are attracted to cells with higher values of heat, and so they move in towards the center at the beginning of the simulation, but slowly begin to disperse as the temperature spreads out evenly. This is a very interesting model showing good interaction between the agents and the cells, as well as a good dynamic model that evolves in time.

Interesting features mostly revolve around the interaction between the agents and the tiles, and how the agents are able to respond to the stock values in the tile and recognize the “warmer” direction and move according to that.

It is a good example for getting a feel for some clever tricks to make rich and interesting models in somewhat simple ways. It is also a good example of building on past models in order to create a more complex and interesting model. Note that the underlying cell structure is almost identical to the diffusion model.
